Amelia Island

The Amelia Island Concours was held March 9, 2014.  There were lots of great cars on display – McLaren Can-Am and Formula cars, a Ferrari 330P4, and Indy cars.

Cavallino Classic

The 2014 Cavallino Classic was a fantastic event.  Great shots of the Penske 512M, and close-up photos of several 512bb/LMs.

Ferrari 512M

An up-close and personal view of the blue Penske Ferrari 512M. This is the car that was driven by Mark Donohue, and has an engine built by Traco.

Grand Sports

On a dreary, rainy day in 2003, the Amelia Island Concours played host to all five of the original Grand Sport Corvettes.

ASRA

The American Street Rod Association Nationals are held annually at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa. There are always over 1000 cars on display.

Ferrari 330P4

I was thrilled to see a Ferrari 330P4 at Amelia Island in 2014. I arrived at the car just in time for the owner to open it up for photos!

Daytona Coupe

In 2009, a rare find at Amelia Island was this 1965 Cobra Daytona Coupe.

Sebring Legends

There were a lot of cars I had not seen before at the 2011 Sebring Legends of Motorsport, and  there were a wide variety of types and classes on display.

Winter Park

The Winter Park Concours is a growing show held in beautiful downtown Winter Park, Florida. Always lots of great cars on display!

Chaparrals

Along with the Grand Sport Corvettes, the 2003 Amelia Island Concours featured the cars of Jim Hall.

Porsche 956

The Porsche 956 is a model builders dream car. This car is the Iseki Tractor 956, shot at vintage events at Sebring.

250 Testarossa

The 250 Testarossa is one of the most iconic Ferrari race cars.  Here is a selection of TR’s from Cavallino over the years.

Ford GT40 Mk1

Two original GT40 Mk1’s from Shelby American. Lots of up-close, detailed photos of both cars!

Jaguar D-Type

One of England’s most iconic race cars, the Jaguar D-Type has always been one of my favorites.

Porsche 962

A big selection of Porsche 962′s from a variety of events at Sebring and Daytona, grouped by livery.

Museums

Photographs from various automotive museums around the country.

Ferrari 512bb/LM

A selection of Ferrari 512bb/LM’s from Cavallino.  These represent both Series 1 and Series 2 cars.

Ferrari 512bb/LM

Here’s a selection of Ferrari 512bb/LM’s from Cavallino.  The photos should sort by car.  These represent both Series 1 and Series 2 cars; for example, car #447 is a Series 1 and car # 21 is a Series 2. The Series 2 was lighter and slightly more powerful, and can be distinguished by the straked NACA duct and a more ‘slab-sided’ appearance.  Car #447 is owned by Jim Fuchs, one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet.  He happily opened up the car for as many photos as we wanted to take and is always willing to talk about his cars.

Blackhawk Museum

I had the opportunity to visit the Blackhawk Museum during a trip to California. This is a fantastic museum, with over 70,000 square feet of classic, sports, and racing cars.  The main problem I had was it’s pretty dark inside, and the flash unit on the camera didn’t always reach into the corners.  In those places I didn’t use a flash, all of the tiny lights they use to highlight the cars turned some of the photos into a starscape.  It was especially a problem with some of the high-gloss black classics.

Porsche 962

A big selection of Porsche 962’s from a variety of events at Sebring and Daytona.  I’ve tried to group them by car, such as Gulf, Repsol, New Man, and Rothman’s.  I wish there was a good model kit of this car!

Ford GT40 Mk 1

A very detailed gallery of two Ford GT40 Mk 1’s.  Both of these cars are owned by Shelby American.  The green #21 car is chassis P/1021 and the white #11 car is P/1037.  Both were campaigned by Shelby in the mid-1960’s.
